Millbrook Honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The memorial chapel service honored the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through inspiring readings and music by the student body.

In the past, Millbrook’s annual Dr. King celebration featured Millbrook’s gospel choir performing a variety of timeless songs in the Flagler Memorial Chapel. This year, the student body took the service in a new direction. They performed original and familiar music, film, dance, spoken word, and dramatic readings in the Chelsea Morrison Theater expressing the message of justice that Dr. King represents.

This Dr. King celebration will continue throughout the month, featuring a community installation in Schoolhouse that provides a space for the community to respond to the prompts: How am I living Dr. King’s dream of justice? How do I carry on his legacy in my life? On Friday, January 23, Colia Liddell Lafayette Clark will be visiting Millbrook to share her experience as a Selma civil rights activist with the community.
