Alumna Returns to Millbrook Dance Studio for Choreography Collaboration
Director of Dance Leighann Kowalsky and alumna Delaney Bailey '14 recently collaborated on choreography, which they performed at the annual Choreography on the Edge Showcase at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Theater during July 29-31.
The choreography was unique in that Bailey '14 and Kowalsky used red paint to help illustrate emotion in the performance.
"This was an exciting piece to perform, because it was piloted with Millbrook students last fall. I fell in love with the concept of combining paint and movement on stage, and was excited to work with Delaney in honing the piece for this professional performance," said Director of Dance Leighann Kowalsky.
"I feel that the dance program at Millbrook really prepared me for my endeavors post-graduation," said Bailey '14. "Being exposed to so many different styles taught me to adapt to different types of movement, and it was both exciting and an honor to return to the Millbrook dance studio to collaborate with Leighann."
