Millbrook Alumni and the Summer Olympics
When discussing the reach and strength of Millbrook’s alumni network we often say, “all roads lead to School Road,” and the path to Rio is one such connection on the Millbrook map.
Two Millbrook alumni, Jeff Ryan ’82 and Julia Heffernan ’07, are both involved with the 2016 Summer Olympics in different, but equally interesting capacities.
Ryan ’82 is senior director for USA Team Events for the United States Tennis Association (USTA), and is in Rio with the U.S. tennis team. USTA is a national governing body for tennis in the United States that oversees play from the ground to the professional level.
While Ryan ’82 is supporting the U.S. tennis teams during the event, Julia Heffernan ’07 assisted in the marketing around the games through creating new emojis for all fans to enjoy. Heffernan ’07 is an “emoji entrepreneur,” who is well known for her work designing for top clients and events including NBC, March Madness, and Comedy Central. She is also working with Millbrook in the development of our very own set of emojis!
