Millbrook Alumna Melissa Sheeran '14 Concludes Hockey Season with High Honors

Millbrook alumna Melissa Sheeran '14 concluded her hockey season with multiple high honors.

Sheeran '14, who has completed her second season as a member of the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinals, scored the most goals in womens hockey in the entire Division III conference. She also won her second consecutive national championship, and was named Tournament Most Valuable Player in the ECAC West Tournament, as well as Tournament Most Valuable Player in the Division III National Tournament. Given these outstanding athletic accomplishments, it is no surprise that she was also awarded the SUNY Plattsburgh Female Athlete of the Year Award and named the Most Valuable Player on her team for the 2015-2016 season.

During her time at Millbrook Sheeran was an invaluable asset to the girls varsity hockey team. Her skill and spirit embody the values of the Millbrook athletic program.

“It has been a pleasure to follow her successes throughout the season. Her accomplishments are outstanding, especially with her being one of the younger players in her league. We look forward to continue celebrating her success and are proud that she is a part of our Millbrook family,” said Millbrook Girls Varsity Hockey Coach Ana Steele-Norton.

Congratulations to Sheeran and to the entire SUNY Plattsburgh womens hockey team for their strong season and second national championship!
