Millbrook's Mustangs are enjoying a regular-season record of 5-1, the best in its 4-year history of 8-player football! Come cheer on the team today at 1:00 p.m. on Callard Field!
The 2019 Mustangs and new head coach Kadeem Rodgers set out to win the league and beat Pomfret. The team agreed to “obsess over going 1-0,” attacking every day whether it's a game day or a practice day.
Coach Rodgers provides these season highlights: The team traveled 5 hours north to play Holderness in week 1 and scored 40 points before Holderness scored a few late TDs. Forman traveled to Millbrook in week 2 and let up 64 points to a potent Millbrook offense.
Pomfret and Millbrook engaged in a heavyweight battle in week 3. Millbrook scored a late TD that was called back due to illegal procedure. This resulted in a 22-20 loss.
Since then, Millbrook has won 3 straight contests. Millbrook’s #1 offense averages 49 points per game (ppg), while the defense only allows 22 ppg.
Millbrook’s 5-1 record is the best since the program’s resurrection and today's bowl contest provides an opportunity for win #6. Most importantly, the boys have been exposed to hard work, lessons concerning empathy, love, and masculinity. Our #1 objective is to always build better men.
Seniors Matt Amato (C), Mike Nassif (C), Thomas Sullivan, Alex Murray, and Stillman Smith round out their Millbrook careers in this final game.
