| | Trevor Zoo - Live Video Feed Watch recorded video of our six new Red wolf pups with mom Luna through our UStream feed above.
Less than 400 red wolves exist with about half in captivity and half in the wild. All captive born Red wolves are potential release candidates to the wild, so interaction with the pups in kept to the minimum necessary for health checks and vaccinations. Although Luna is a first time mom, she seems to be a natural. The Trevor Zoo, a member of the AZA since 1989, is the only Zoo in the world located at a high school. About 50 members of the student body care for the animals on a daily basis, feeding and cleaning about 180 animals from 80 species, seven of which are endangered. It’s a one of a kind living-laboratory that rewards the students involved with incredible learning and responsibility experiences. |
